Busy Bee #16

Just a couple of short videos I made of DSIF8 performances I liked, with a little graphic at the end of each one.

Busy Bee #15

My buddy Nick Faber recorded a song that got stuck in my head and DEMANDED a video be made of it! (That is, the catchiness of the song demanded a video, Nick Faber did not threaten me.) I put this together with Photoshop, Motion, Soundtrack, and Final Cut Pro, and it's composed of antique clip art and heavily manipulated video from Nick's previous videos on YouTube.

Check out my video here.

Uploading a few more things from last week. These are two identity screens from older CageMatch teams who never got screens before. We have Carne Corderosa, a fictional team who were in the finals of the equally fictional Brazilian tournament, and Hip-Hop Review, who were in the second ever CageMatch way back on April 8, 2006.

My, but it's been a busy week! Here's a video promo I made for The Beatbox, from the video session we did at the end of 2007 in Chicago.

Busy Bee #12

There's a lot of individual items in this post, as it took a lot of work to put together this weekend's CageMatch Fiftieth Show Extravaganza. First we have the retrospective video, which turned out quite well, I think. I used Motion for the first time, doing the animated crowd and list of names of competitors sequence. I used a new program I bought called PhotoPresenter to do the stack of all the identity screens. I loved the way the segments turned out for the CageMatch staff, with the Faces Of CageMatch pictures superimposed over the video clips. And it was very cool to see all the "golden moments" strung together. I left some stuff out due to a rush job, but overall I'm pleased with it.

Then there was the actual show promo video, where I did a more involved bit of work in Motion to do the gunshot sequence with the smoking guns held by Flavor Shot (which, in fact, were NOT held by Flavor Shot, as I forgot to bring the guns to the shoot, so they just posed as if they had guns, and I got the Mayor's Aide to pose with the guns later and photoshopped his hands in.). Making fun of Zach Ward's failure to win a CageMatch title in seven tries was amusing. The Panthro morph was well-received, and was made with MorphX. Joe Jones' and Kyle Chorpening's rap to end the video was just fabulous.

And then there's the huge CageMatch 50 poster I made to display in the lobby of the theater during the show. It's 24x36 and turned out great.

(These are sized to be printed at 150 dpi on regular sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, if anybody's interested.)

I'm just going to go ahead and add the new ones to this post instead of creating individual posts for each one. The thumbnails are linked to the original pages.

That's all of 'em! Mere hours until the mighty event.

Oh, by the way, I love the way the automatically generated 75x75 "square" versions of all of these on Flickr just HAPPEN to frame themselves perfectly and still remain readable. They make great icons! (Check out the "all sizes" link on each photo's page.)
